Mission
KPMG U.S. Foundation, Inc. provided tremendous support to our communities this year. In addition to the donations supporting COVID-19 relief and the creation of the Racial Equity Action Fund, we distributed “Impact grants” across the country. Designed to recognize and empower employees who live our Values and make a difference in their communities these grants support nonprofit organizations nominated by our employees with $500 donations.
Other ways the Foundation supported our communities in FY 20 include:
--Providing $10.8 million in matching gifts to colleges and universities, which also includes $2.8 million from our retired partner community
--Supporting organizations like Junior Achievement, helping middle schools; NAF, serving high schools; and Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma, focused on colleges. These organizations all share our goal of developing a diverse talent pipeline with the skills needed to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
--KPMG U.S. Foundation, Inc.’s flagship investment, The PhD Project, drives change in business academia by ensuring diverse faculty members are teaching, conducting impactful research, and serving in significant leadership roles at universities. Created, primarily funded, and fully administered by KPMG U.S. Foundation, Inc., The PhD Project has increased the number of Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic American, and Native American business professors by 500 percent since its inception in 1994.

Additional Culture Details
Culture is how we do things at KPMG. It is the combination of how we think, the actions we take (both big and small) every day, and the underlying processes, programs and systems that support how work gets done. We all impact our Culture and make a difference to those around us. We have always been driven by our Values and we do what is right and what matters for one another, our clients, communities, and the world. In 2019, we launched our Culture Champions Network, a diverse firmwide network of more than 4,100 members designed to engage and empower our professionals to drive our culture change.
This is another critical year for Culture change, and we will continue to adapt our plan to be relevant and reflective of our environment. Our key priorities involve:
--Recognizing Culture as a lever to enable and drive our strategy and growth.
--Baking our Values into all we do and how we do it.
--Ensuring our Culture and Values are felt by our people, clients and communities.
--Creating a safe, inclusive, and candid environment for all.
--Caring and supporting each other through challenges
