Purpose
At the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, our culture is rooted in purpose, community, and care for one another. Team members are united by a shared commitment to strengthening Jewish life, supporting vulnerable populations, and building a more connected and resilient Greater Philadelphia region.

Mission
For over a century, the Jewish Federation has been proud to serve Greater Philadelphia with three key roles: Convening the community, Encouraging and stewarding the generosity of our donors and Making grants to meet critical needs.
SERVING VULNERABLE POPULATIONS
We make a vital difference in Jewish lives at home, in Israel and around the world, addressing the full range of social service needs and providing lifesaving humanitarian relief. When a child needs an education or a family loses their income, Jewish Federation is there. We make sure a Holocaust Survivor isn’t deserted, and that no one who is disabled is without assistance. Jewish Federation holds out a safety net. And we’ll never let it fall.
FACILITATING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Because we truly believe we are stronger together, we connect Jews from different generations and backgrounds to celebrate our shared history and peoplehood. Together with our network of agencies, we build welcoming, vibrant Jewish communities and give people of all ages access to Jewish experiences and to each other.
PROMOTING JEWISH LIFE AND LEARNING
From schools to camps to synagogues, from Israel trips to cultural events, the Jewish Federation is woven into the fabric of Jewish life. Every community member, no matter their interests, affiliation, neighborhood or orientation, can find fun, inspiration and opportunities for growth through formal and informal Jewish education experiences.

For 125 years, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has mobilized resources, leadership, and community partnerships to care for those in need, combat antisemitism, strengthen Jewish identity, and build a vibrant Jewish future.
Our work spans critical human services, Jewish education, community security, leadership development, Israel and overseas partnerships, and cultural engagement. Through collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations and thousands of volunteers and donors, Federation creates lasting impact across Greater Philadelphia and beyond.
