The Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program was established as a means of revitalizing on-post hotels. The program is a natural extension of the success achieved in the privatization of family housing through the Residential Communities Initiative(RCI). IHG(Intercontinental Hotels Group) and Lend Lease(US) Public Partnerships, the nations leader in developing privatized residential communities for the US military, joined forces in the PAL program to deliver a first-rate hotel experience to service men and women, their families, and all official guests of the US Army.
IHG Army Hotels are now located on 21 Army posts across the country. Renovations are ongoing or are already complete at hotels across the portfolio, and new-build hotels are being constructed at several locations. Once IHG's high brand standards are met, many of the existing hotels as well as new hotels will be branded as Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood Suites or Staybridge Suites. Historic buildings will undergo necessary modifications but will retain their historic character.
