High Hopes Development Center
High Hopes is a 34-year old non-profit that primarily serves children with special needs and their families through an inclusive preschool and kindergarten with an on-site outpatient pediatric therapy clinic. We currently have 11 inclusive preschool classrooms for children from six weeks to six years where 40% of our students have a special need ranging anywhere from developmental delays to rare chromosomal disorders. As of fall 2018, we also have an inclusive kindergarten.
Our on-site pediatric therapy clinic serves children with special needs from birth to 21 years through one-on-one physical, occupational, speech and feeding therapies. Last year alone, our clinic served 713 children from 22 different Middle Tennessee counties with 25,386 individual therapy sessions.
Overall, High Hopes served more than 850 families in Middle Tennessee last year. Families are driving from other counties for our services because our specific model is so unique and because the need is so great.
