Greater Joliet Area YMCA
The Greater Joliet Area YMCA is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) charitable organization that has been serving families—regardless of age, income or background—from throughout Will County and its surrounding areas since 1926. A mainstay in the Joliet community for more than 95 years, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests.
Across the United States, more than 2,600 Ys engage 21 million individuals of all ages to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation’s health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors. Anchored in more than 10,000 communities, the Y has the long-standing relationships and physical presence not just to promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change.

Purpose
We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Vision
With a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all, our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.
