• Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries: Over the past 14 years the annual Gowrie Challenge has raised over one and a half million dollars ($1,500,000) for The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries (serves 11 towns & communities). The Gowrie Group Challenge is an annual fundraising challenge where Gowrie Group gives a $30,000 donation to the SSKP, and challenges local businesses and friends to match this and help meet the annual goal.
• Supporting the arts, through sponsorships at: The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, Ivoryton Playhouse, Community Music School, Mystic Museum of Art, and more.
• Mystic Seaport Museum: supporting their efforts to protect and provide access to our nation’s seafaring past.
• New England Museum Association: high-level support for the regional organization for museum professionals and museum and cultural institutions.
• Diocese of Norwich: supporting their scholarship efforts to provide tuition assistance to elementary students.
• Vista Life Innovations: supporting their efforts to help individuals with disabilities.
• US Sailing: support for the national governing body of the sport of sailing and their efforts to grow community access to sailing.
• New England Science & Sailings: supporting their efforts to bring STEM education to school children in New London CT.
• Raise the Roof/Habitat for Humanity: support for their community effort to eliminate poverty housing.
• Connecticut Sports Foundation: supporting their efforts to financially assist cancer patients and families.
• National Sailing Hall of Fame: supporting their efforts to curate and preserve our nation’s maritime history.
• CT and RI Marine Trades Associations: providing sponsorship and safety training for members.
• Veteran Angler Charters: supporting their efforts to offer memorable fishing trips for CT’s active duty, retired, wounded, and recovering veterans
• Providence Animal Rescue League: support for their animal rescue and education efforts.
• Partners and employees at Gowrie Group are active in the local community, through the Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, community service organizations, and serve on boards of prominent nonprofits.
• Providing insurance solutions and trusted advice to more than 500 public safety clients, hundreds of non-profits, and 100 community-focused sailing organizations across New England.
