As a service-based business, our people are everything. GMR has invested and continues to invest a significant amount of time and resources into employee development and engagement.
Our culture celebrates and supports employees by providing opportunities for connection, inspiration and growth. Our initiatives are organized around three platforms—engagement, representation and community. Engagement focuses on providing internal employee interactions that get employees engaged in facilitating collaboration, innovation and passion. Representation fosters a balance of an inclusive agency where you can bring your whole self to work. Lastly, community establishes relationships with community partners, creates volunteer/fundraising opportunities, and celebrates employees’ individual involvement with organizations and causes.
In the last year, we’ve particularly adapted to focus on what is going on currently in the world. We’ve hosted panels on systemic racism and its impact on culture and the workplace, we’ve held workshops on introversion vs. extroversion and how to leverage both styles as a leader and a colleague, and started a Race Talk series where every month a member of leadership picks a topic on race and provides meaningful discussion questions in breakouts groups in the agency.
We offer paid vacation, sick time and 12 weeks of paid parental leave, as well as an annual paid holiday shutdown, so employees can save their vacation days for other times throughout the year. We also support our employees' passion for giving back to the community by providing 8 hours of company-paid volunteer time each year, and Election Day is a paid holiday.
