Frick Art & Historical Center

The Frick Art & Historical Center, a museum, historic site and cultural center serves the public through preservation, presentation, and interpretation of the fine and decorative arts and historically significant artifacts for all residents of and visitors to Western Pennsylvania.

The Frick is the legacy of Helen Clay Frick, daughter of industrialist and art collector Henry Clay Frick. The museum, comprising several historic buildings housing the Frick’s multiple collections on over 5 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, is open to the public thanks to Miss Frick’s generosity.

The Frick Art Museum was built by Miss Frick in 1969 to house her personal art collection, which has remained on view since the building opened to the public in 1970.

Clayton, the late-19th-century Frick family home, opened to the public as a historic house museum in 1990. Over 90% of Clayton’s furnishings are original, and public tours of the home are offered year-round.
