As a social service and mental health agency with a diversity of programs, FF works with some of the most vulnerable populations in the Bay Area and Southern California, including families and youth who face poverty, violence, and trauma; former foster youth and previously incarcerated youth; children and youth with more than one emotional or intellectual disability; and young people living with autism. Purpose

Founded in 1891 as an orphanage in Oakland, Fred Finch Youth & Family Services now provides well over 20 different services throughout California and the diversity of our programs is representative of the growth and adaptability of our multifaceted agency. Through our numerous services, Fred Finch specializes in providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed care to families that face poverty, violence and trauma; former foster youth and formerly incarcerated youth; children and youth with more than one emotional or intellectual diagnoses; and young people living with autism. Vision

At Fred Finch we strongly believe developing and nurturing a stable, inquisitive, and nimble organization are the keys to ensuring that Fred Finch will always be able to achieve our mission, no matter what challenges we may face.

In 2019, the Fred Finch Board of Directors implemented a new strategic plan which included several goals and initiatives to improve our capacity to achieve higher levels of expertise, sustaining and growing our programs through innovative collaboration, staff empowerment, intentional leadership succession and sound business development practices.

While the timing of this new strategic planning process was affected by the emergency response of the pandemic, the commitment to adhering to our determined strategic priorities in all decision-making practices is our ultimate goal.
