Connecticut Foodshare
Connecticut Foodshare is the food bank serving the people of Connecticut, and a member of the national Feeding America network. In Connecticut, more than 516,000 or 1 in 7 people are food insecure. That includes more than 122,000 or 1 in 6 children. Last year, Connecticut Foodshare distributed enough food to provide nearly 45 million meals through a network of 600 community-based hunger relief programs, including food pantries, meal programs and mobile distribution sites. Thousands of volunteers help power the work of the food bank, this past year they gave more than 46,000 hours of service.
