First Option Mortgage
Founded in 2004, First Option started with 8 industry professionals sharing a common dream: to bring "home" back into homeownership. Since our founding, we've expanded to nearly 200 employees in18 states and have found a home for tens of thousands of individuals. We're more than a mortgage lending company; we're your neighbors, your community, and most importantly, your financial educators. What creates the "First Option Difference" is our focus on telling the borrower's story. Everyone is different and no loan program is the same, so we focus on the full story of the individual and work as a team to realize that dream.
Purpose
Our success depends on the personal and professional success of our customers, employees, partners, and their families. By knowing their stories, lives, and hopes for the future, we can better serve our communities and the lives within them. We focus on the relationship not the transaction, keeping the human in homeownership.
Vision
First Option began with an idea: To provide a better life for employees and customers alike. We opened our doors in 2004 with a staff of eight experienced mortgage professionals that had a goal to make a difference in the lives of those we served.
Mission
We understand the mortgage transaction process, how it works, and how it impacts the lives of every person applying to buy a home. From our founding, we’ve built personal relationships with each of our customers to better the process for everyone. We know our customers are more than a loan number; we're focused on educating our borrowers and setting them up with the right program from the start in order to ensure their legacy.
Additional Culture Details
We are very family-oriented, which means we won't always agree but we will always set a seat at the table. Having a differing set of experiences, opinions, and outlook means we're constantly thinking about the betterment of all. We're challenged to focus on what unites us and look for ways to create better systems that are flexible and adaptable to each person's needs. We're not a perfect family, but we do seek to educate and grow every day.
Values
- Accountability
- Accountability is the idea of holding others and ourselves responsible, whether it be the responsibility of communicating with a borrower in a timely manner or ensuring we're telling the full story of a loan. This keeps us as a company accountable to the borrower, but also accountable to each other as a team.
