Firefly was created for one simple reason: provide low-cost, high-performance space launch capability for the under-served small satellite market, where secondary-payload launches are often the only option. The technologies employed in our state-of-the-art rockets provide a clear pathway for future incremental improvements in vehicle capability. Later vehicles will also have reusable elements and employ air-breathing propulsion.

In 2014, Tom Markusic and two of his peers, having a grand passion and vision to build their own small launch vehicles, set out into the business world to seek funding to help make their dream a reality. Commitment, passion, innovation and resilience helped drive, and create Firefly Space Systems. As a new space company, we strive on developing enriched innovative ideas and concepts in our rocket technology, and our quality of work.
It is our employees, and leadership that emphasize and encourage new ideas and value the importance of quality research and development. Our employees enjoy pushing the boundaries on ritual concepts that have always been typical and non-solution based, instead we seek to improve new technology to help solve long-term issues and create more efficient solutions for the small CubeSat launch vehicle industry.
