Additional Culture Details
As with other skilled trades, Faith is battling for top talent in a skilled labor shortage. As we continue to grow regionally and nationally, we have an urgent need to grow our workforce strategically, year over year at the base level, in order to meet our business needs. Our key initiative to address this shortage is through a substantial investment in our ‘Ground-Up Growth’ strategy via our nationally accredited, in-house apprenticeship programs. Faith has created two innovative apprenticeship programs—electrical and specialty systems—which allow us to build our skilled workforce each year by up to 350 people. While the training helps us fulfill client projects and business needs, foundationally it also provides a career path with no debt and an unlimited potential for growth.
Investing in our brightest and most passionate people isn’t something new, however. Faith’s leader, Mike Jansen, began his career with the company as an apprentice, along with many of our group presidents and vice presidents. Many of the leaders throughout our field and office teams have completed Faith’s apprenticeship program, and continue to learn and grow in their roles each day. They can directly attest to the value of our programs, and have a passion to pass along the opportunities which were afforded to them.
In addition to adding to our workforce, Faith invests a great deal of time and resources into training our current workforce to continue to learn and grow in their careers, as well as advance to new opportunities. Faith’s learning and development team has 24 members – 18 of whom are technical trainers – and continues to grow. We provide 20 percent more training to our employees than the industry average. Annually, we provide six paid training weeks to our field employees, bringing them to classes scheduled around the country. In 2017, Faith employees received nearly 200,000 total hours of training. We know that investing in good people is the foundation to success for our company, for our clients, and for our employees and their families.
