The Douglas County School System (DCSS), a public education district, is the largest employer in the county. with over 3300 employees and all teachers are Highly Qualified in their field. DCSS student enrollment is approximately 25,000. Schools include 20 elementary schools (K-5th), 8 middle (6th-8th) and 5 high schools (9th-12th)).
