Additional Culture Details
Discover employees are driven by these shared values:
Doing the Right Thing, Innovation, Simplicity, Collaboration, Openness, Volunteering, Enthusiasm, Respect
The Discover Values acrostic was first created in 1998. It was, in some sense, not new – and therein laid much of its strength. Rather, it was a focused way of looking at the existing culture of Discover. These values represent us as a company. All the way down the line, each Discover Value is a very real part of our organization.
Discover was, from the start, a place that took care of its employees. Although hard work was expected, from the very top of the company down, employees were always treated with respect.
Our earliest management and employees were the basis for our internal culture, their focus was on taking care of the customer. In contrast with the image of the unyielding, unforgiving bank, we made it our goal to “find a way to say yes.” This “customer first” attitude found unique expression here at Discover.
Discover employees are united by shared values and driven by a single mission – to help people achieve a brighter financial future. Our goal is to make a difference for our customers, business partners, communities and each other. That’s the Discover Way.
