Mission
For over 50 years, we have come together for one common mission — to improve everyday life for every resident of Connecticut. We share best practices and objective research to help our local leaders govern wisely. We advocate at the state level for issues affecting local taxpayers. And we pool our buying power to negotiate more cost-effective services for our communities.
The Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency, CIRMA, was formed in 1980 as a service program of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities with a critical mission: to meet Connecticut municipalities’ risk management and risk financing needs of boards of education and local public agencies. The organization’s founders formed CIRMA with a salient vision: to establish a better way to provide critical and stable protections to the Connecticut public sector.
