Cornucopia’s mission is to help people with disabilities develop their skills, confidence and workplace potential. Cornucopia, a non-profit organization, runs a vocational training program for people with disabilities at 3 locations. We also provide employment services to people with disabilities, including resume writing, job coaching & employment placement services. The 10-person vocational rehab department serves about 200 persons a year.
Nature's Bin is a neighborhood natural & organic foods grocery store, that houses the largest of Cornucopia's vocational training programs. It is the main source of revenue for Cornucopia, accounting for 90% last year. The store caters to people interested in specialty diets, including all-natural, organic, vegetarian, vegan, raw, gluten-free, lactose intolerant, and others. Trainees work with staff members in most aspects of department operations, facing the challenges and rewards of competitive employment in a caring, supportive atmosphere.
