Community Services For Children
CSC is a leader in early education and family development promoting quality and innovative practices that affect the lives of 40,000 children annually in 16 counties of northeastern Pennsylvania. Founded in 1981, CSC is committed to ensuring that children enter school ready to learn and their families are prepared to assist them. We provide early learning and child care support services to young children and their parents, low-income families, and child care providers.
Our Purpose: CSC believes that all children deserve a chance to succeed in school and the path to success begins in early childhood within a nurturing family.

Programs & Services: CSC administers Head Start/Early Head Start of the Lehigh Valley, PreK Counts Preschool, Newton School, Child Care Information Services of Lehigh County, and the Northeast Pennsylvania Regional Key, and Early Education Academy.

Purpose
Community Services for Children provides a multitude of early learning and childcare services to low-income families throughout Northeast Pennsylvania. Our mission is to "prepare young children and their families to succeed in learning and in life through innovative, comprehensive services." Since 1981, CSC has been committed to ensuring that children enter school ready to achieve and their families are prepared to assist them. We have now grown to serve over 22,000 children and families annually through:
• Head Start/ Early Head Start of the Lehigh Valley - CSC operates the nation's early childhood and family development program serving economically disadvantaged children birth to age five with comprehensive programming in addition to education, such as health, nutrition, mental wellness, disability, and family / parent engagement services.
• The Early Childhood Institute - CSC provides professional development opportunities for early childhood and human service professionals on critical and current subject matter.
• Preschool Scholarship and Innovation -- Through PA's EITC program, CSC is able to provide scholarships for low-income children to attend high quality childcare and early education, as well as STEM/Innovation Lab classrooms that support 21st century skills for Allentown Head Start Children.
• Early Learning Resource Centers - Since 2018, CSC operates the ELRC for five Regions in the Commonwealth, consisting of 17 counties, whose goal is to increase access to and quality of early learning supports for families with young children
