Community Services For Children
CSC is a leader in early education and family development promoting quality and innovative practices that affect the lives of 22,000 children annually in 17 counties of northeastern Pennsylvania. Our mission is to “prepare young children and their families to succeed in learning and life through innovative, comprehensive and leading-edge services.” Since 1981, CSC has been committed to ensuring that children enter school ready to achieve and their families are prepared to assist them. We provide early learning and child care support services to young children and their parents, low-income families, and child care providers.
Purpose
Community Services for Children provides early learning and childcare services to low-income families throughout Northeast Pennsylvania. We serve over 22,000 children and families annually through: • Head Start/ Early Head Start of the Lehigh Valley - CSC operates early childhood and family development programs that serve disadvantaged children birth to age five with educational programming which includes health, nutrition, mental wellness, disability, and family / parent engagement services. • The Early Childhood Institute - CSC provides professional development opportunities for early childhood and human service professionals. • Preschool Scholarship and Innovation -- Through PA's EITC program, CSC is able to provide scholarships for low-income children to attend high quality childcare and early education • Early Learning Resource Centers - CSC operates the ELRC for five Regions in PA, consisting of 17 counties, whose goal is to increase access to and quality of early learning.
