CollegeSource

CollegeSource, Inc. is a technology company creating solutions for higher education, with roots going back to 1971. Over 2,000 colleges and universities, as well as millions of users worldwide, utilize CollegeSource products for degree audit, academic planning, and transfer credit evaluation and articulation.

In 1971, Harry G. Cooper founded the National Microfilm Library to scan and create an annual collection of U.S. college catalogs, saving institutions millions of dollars each year. This has since evolved into the company that it is today, renamed CollegeSource, with its ownership and much of its staff remaining the same.

As of 2019, the legacy of CollegeSource, the catalog database, has reached 145,000+ catalogs online (containing 118+ million course description records) and supports a suite of online apps used in researching transferred credits and managing evaluation decisions.

CollegeSource has reinvented its methods with each successive generation of technological advancements—from microfiche to CD-ROM, to relational database and cloud technology—remaining a critical resource for institutions of higher education worldwide.
