The City’s origins are rooted in World War II, when it was the primary supplier of magnesium used in manufacturing munitions and airplane parts and grew virtually overnight to house more than 14,000 workers. Henderson was incorporated in 1953 and remained a relatively small industrial town until the early 1980s. Today, Henderson is the largest full-service city in Nevada with approximately 2,000 full-time and 1,000 part-time employees who deliver essential services needed by more than 325,000 residents.
