Choptank Transport is a third-party logistics company, often referred to as a 3PL. 3PLs play a synergistic role with the nation's goods by providing shippers, small and large, access to large pools of vetted, reliable carriers. (They do a lot more than that to help shippers, but for the purposes of this story, we will leave it at that.) Headquartered on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Choptank has just shy of 400 employees with six locations nationwide. Our core business is food shipping, although we do everything from lumber, to oversized freight, to furniture. If it can be moved by road, air, rail or sea, we can do it!
