Children's Health
Making life better for children has been the mission of Children’s Health for more than 100 years. As the eighth-largest pediatric health care provider in the nation, Children’s Health has 8,000 team members devoted to the care of approximately 300,000 unique patients through 650,000 patient encounters each year. Together, our three hospitals, 26 specialty centers, 185 schools, 50 pediatric specialty and subspecialty programs, and community partnerships are improving the health of the children in North Texas. We provide nearly $38 million in charity care annually. As pioneers in virtual health, we care for school children with limited access to health care. We are the only academic health care facility in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the care of children. Through our partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center, our medical staff conducts research that is instrumental in developing treatments, therapies and greater understanding of pediatric diseases.
Purpose
For more than 100 years, our mission has been to make life better for children. Since our humble beginnings in 1913 as a baby camp, we have had a long-standing commitment to our community that includes not only high-quality patient care but also advocacy, education and preventive care with an unwavering focus on our mission.
Vision
As the North Texas community grows, we remain dedicated to excellence and service to our patients and families while providing world-class care. Our commitment to the community reaches beyond our walls and into schools, social-service organizations, corporate boardrooms, city halls and legislative chambers.
Mission
The mission of Children’s Health is to make life better for children.
Additional Culture Details
To build a culture of appreciation and recognition, we have a year-round program called Recognizing Employee Dedication (RED). It includes opportunities for leaders to express appreciation for staff, such as summer and holiday meals served by executive leaders, a RED cart or surprise boxes leaders can request for unit or department celebrations and an annual milestone anniversary gala at ATT Stadium called Paint the Town RED. In addition, the RED program includes opportunities for leaders to individually recognize and thank staff and for team members to recognize colleagues.
