Additional Culture Details

Children’s Health has been remarkable in its support for employees during COVID-19. All employees remained on payroll, regardless of their ability to perform their job. We have provided childcare resources, assistance with financial concerns, stress relief, daily communications, weekly town halls and CEO podcasts. Employees who are essential to hospital care received discounted or free meals and, if needed, free or discounted hotel rooms.

To build a culture of appreciation and recognition, we have a year-round program called Recognizing Employee Dedication (RED). It provides opportunities for leaders to express appreciation for team members, such as summer and holiday meals served by executive leaders, a RED cart stocked with treats and swag items that leaders can request for unit or department celebrations and an annual milestone anniversary gala called Paint the Town RED hosted by executive leaders. Team members celebrating milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20 years, etc., are guests of honor at this semi-formal dinner dance with a live band. In addition, the RED program includes opportunities for leaders to individually recognize and thank their team, and for team members to recognize one another.
