The health and well-being of our team members has always been a priority for Chartway because we know their wellness provides a solid foundation to live our vision, mission, and values and co-create a culture of kindness, empathy, and service to our members and our communities. This promise became increasingly important in 2020 and 2021 when an unprecedented global health crisis increased feelings of insecurity, uncertainty, and anxiety. To alleviate these concerns and to reassure our team, Chartway fully committed to delivering on our intent to avoid pandemic layoffs, quickly institute remote work, and provide everyone tools and resources to safely work, prosper, and continually develop new skills. Instituting safety measures like PPE, clearly communicating leadership’s flexibility and understanding of unique challenges, and a “Be Well & Be Kind” mindset in our daily interactions and the ways we support one another provided a solid foundation for our team to provide the same to our members. We also ensured team members’ children could attend school virtually by providing free laptops and PTO to care for themselves or a family member.
