Vision

ChaosSearch is a hungry, fast-growing startup built on a vision that was once balked at by nonbelievers. The company was founded by Thomas Hazel, a serial entrepreneur with vast experience in communication, virtualization, and database technology. After spending 25+ years designing, building and inventing new technology for databases, Thomas discovered a way to build a next generation data lake platform for massive scale analytics—and thus, ChaosSearch was born in 2016.

With this breakthrough and a seed of a business idea, Thomas reached out to like-minded entrepreneurs and technologists to build ChaosSearch. His passion for data and analytics combined with this desire to prove the power of his patented approach has attracted a workforce that is equally as passionate and completely unified under the same mission and vision. Employees buzz around the idea of doing things people have never seen before.

Additional Culture Details

While the ChaosSearch culture is driven by the desire to scale the business and deliver on the promise of data lakes to organizations around the world, our leadership team is committed to making it a great place to work.

Pre-pandemic, ChaosSearch offered company lunches and monthly happy hours at their office, located in the heart of Boston. Once the pandemic hit, the management team made sure to keep the fun-loving nature that they once had in the office alive. The team holds biweekly staff meetings that are intended to serve as an opportunity to get an update on the business, but they also spend time during each of these meetings doing something fun or quirky, getting to know employees, and/or discussing interests outside of work.

Values

Message about our values....
Not many private companies have a founder so involved and persistent about culture and values – which is one of the many reasons ChaosSearch’s culture is unique. Thomas has instilled these timeless values over the years: be a good person, help others, work hard, be accountable, and have fun. Under these guidelines--and by creating an inclusive, safe workplace-- ChaosSearch has created what we like to call a “we” culture--where working as a team is the first and foremost priority.

It has provided me a with a whole new set of skills and experiences I would never have achieve elsewhere. From coding, to new cloud technologies, to experiencing starting a company with 5 people and taking the journey and helping to grow more than 70 now.It has been a the best time of my career.
