The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of 58 federally designated not-for-profit organ procurement organizations (OPOs) in the United States. CORE delivers hope to people seeking the life-saving gift of an organ, and the life-enhancing gift of tissue or cornea transplants. With integrity and compassion, our goal is to bridge the gap between donor families, health care providers and transplant recipients so that we may forever transform lives. With headquarters in Pittsburgh, CORE oversees a region that encompasses 155 hospitals and almost 6 million people throughout western PA, West Virginia and Chemung County, NY. CORE operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and employs a variety of health care professionals that include nurses, educators, lab technicians, surgical technicians, eye bank specialists, call center coordinators, funeral directors, community outreach coordinators, and numerous professional support and leadership staff.
