C-Path

C-Path enables collaborations to generate solutions that accelerate and de-risk drug development, leading to better treatments for people worldwide. C-Path was founded in 2005 as part of the FDA’s Critical Path Initiative. For nearly 20 years, C-Path has developed tools and methods that address unmet medical needs. It promotes innovation, streamlines drug development and reduces the inherent risks of the drug development and regulatory review process. The work of C-Path and its dedicated program and consortia members has contributed to many of the opportunities identified by the FDA. C-Path has experienced incredible growth in recent years, including a 28% increase in funding in the last year for a total of $31.8 million. Purpose

There are seemingly countless illnesses, diseases and other medical maladies that negatively affect human health. Many of these require newer, better, safer treatments in order to improve the lives of those afflicted. Historically, it has taken too long and costs too much money to take a new compound through the drug development process and achieve regulatory approval.

Critical Path Institute (C-Path) forms collaborative work groups comprised of diverse stakeholders to identify specific barriers to developing safe and effective therapies for a specific disease. We create the tools and solutions that help drug developers overcome those barriers.
