Bridge House/Grace House is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, residential treatment facility that provides NO-COST substance use disorder treatment to men and women.
Purpose
For over 65 years, our mission has been to provide no-cost substance-use disorder treatment services to those who have lost everything. Individuals come to us hopeless and helpless, and many are without the will to live. They are provided with a safe place to recover and equipped with the tools necessary to build a new life. The only organization offering long-term residential treatment in the Greater New Orleans Area, our clinical and vocation-based programs validate each individual as an essential member of our community while promoting personal responsibility in a life of recovery. With two housing facilities (Bridge House for males and Grace House for females), we treat over 750 homeless, impoverished, uninsured, underinsured, and/or unemployed men and women each year. Our services are offered regardless of one’s ability to pay.

Mission
The mission of Bridge House/Grace House is to provide gender-specific treatment to men and women in our community who have become dependent on alcohol or drugs so that they may lead sober and productive lives that contribute to the economic well-being of the community. Innovative and comprehensive clinical, vocation-based programs and residential services, with varying levels of care, are offered in an atmosphere that validates each individual as an important member of our community while promoting personal responsibility in a life of recovery. These services are offered regardless of one’s ability to pay.
Additional Culture Details
Bridge House recognizes that employee satisfaction and retention are key components in helping us achieve our goals and misson. In 2022 we hired a dedicated HR professional to manage the implementation of a comprehensive culture and retention plan designed to monitor employee satisfaction, facilitate ongoing team engagement, and inform a roadmap for additional improvements.

We believe chemical dependency is a treatable disease, and we believe it is our duty to inform the public that treatment is available and necessary. We believe that all men and women should be treated with dignity, honor, and respect. We believe in a 12-step recovery process as an effective tool for recovery. We believe that it is our responsibility to respond to and secure the necessary resources to meet the needs of these individuals.
