Running from ping/pong played with a vengeance in Sales to the Engineering beer connoisseurs in the kitchen, then on to Tie-Tuesdays or a Tiki Day Hawaiian Shirt Wednesday we cover a lot of ground. The employees ultimately defined for themselves what it means to be a DUCK=Dedicated, Unique, Customer Focused and Knowledgeable. We base our performance reviews, peer recognition awards program, and healthy working environment on this agreed upon common language, and grow from there. We don't leave culture to chance but manage it in three spheres, Reward & Recognition, Vision & Mission, and Environment & Talent. Black Duck is serious about culture so much that it is even represented on the management team by the Vice President of Culture. Along with a tradition of monthly theme parties, a healthy dose of rubber duckie's throughout our worldwide facilities, Friday karaoke (we call Quackaoke) with snacks, beer and wine on tap.
