Integrity First, one of BKD’s unmatched client services standards, is the foremost defining characteristic of the office’s culture. The Oklahoma practice unit's leadership has implemented many initiatives in the effort to strengthen and protect that culture of integrity, including the creation of an employee engagement council and an annual awards program to honor employees who emulate BKD’s foundational PRIDE values - Passion, Respect, Integrity, Discipline & Excellence - serve clients well and contribute behind the scenes as a "pillar of the firm." In order to better understand our teammates' personalities, strengths and differences, each of our employees completed a DiSC assessment. This tool provides individual priorities, motivators, fears, etc to enable transparency and understanding amongst the team. This has been helpful for us in terms of boosting collaboration and employee morale and strengthening healthy working relationships. For us, it all starts from the top with MP Carley Williams, who was the 2017 recipient of the OK Society of CPAs' Public Service Award
