Bender
Bender serves our customers with two divisions. Our wholesale plumbing and HVAC division offers products, parts, and supplies to local companies with six locations in Connecticut. And with four award-winning showrooms, we offer customers beautiful decorative plumbing, tile & stone, and kitchen and bathroom cabinetry to meet each unique design need.
Purpose

Our internal purpose statement is ‘We Deliver Creative Solutions for Comfortable Living’ and through this, each of our teammates can connect what their role is in meeting our customers' needs. Bender has a three-year vision which incorporates a comprehensive approach to continuous development and improvement of the customer experience, company culture, training, operational processes, and technology and data.
In order to grow, meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, Bender initiatives align with our vision in building sustainability in culture, training, and development. We know that having the right people in the right seats is essential. Trained, empowered, and engaged teammates directly affect the customer experience. The outcomes of these initiatives include increased efficiencies, streamlined operational processes, and a structured training program that allows for lateral movement and internal advancement.

Bender is an EOS company, the basis of which is company alignment from top to bottom with shared goals, initiatives, progress, and data. It is a systemized way of meeting, solving issues, and gaining traction—making sure everyone is rowing in the same direction.
Bender places a high importance on making professional development opportunities accessible to teammates at all levels of the company. Bender offers three Purpose Professional Development Meetings each week, available for all teammates to join. These meetings focus on communication skills, strategies, tools, and resources to expose them to innovative ideas to support personal and professional growth. Executive and Branch Leadership participate in Vistage Leadership Programs, allowing them to continually develop their leadership skills so they may best support the company and their team.
Communication is key at Bender and teammates have multiple formal and informal opportunities to meet 1:1 with their supervisors to discuss their role and responsibilities, their key performance indicators, short- and long-term goals, etc.. We value feedback from teammates so that we can improve and continue to build a culture of engaged employees.
