Additional Culture Details

Benchmark has built a culture that fosters pride in our company through shared values and a commitment to serving others. We inspire our associates by honoring the passion they have for serving our residents, and we recognize them for authentically living our values. We trust them to be accountable, reward them for excellence, and respect their voice by providing them with multiple vehicles through which they are heard. Our leadership demonstrates that integrity is nonnegotiable and that the team supports its members and stands as one company. Competitive Benefits: Benchmark has worked hard to provide an attractive benefits package for our associates that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, short and long-term disability, paid vacation, health and wellness time, paid holidays, 401K with company match, discounts on home and auto insurance, tuition reimbursement, and memberships in SitterCity, Working Advantage, and BJ’s Wholesale Club. Culture Compensation: Benchmark promotes cultural initiatives that provide associates added compensation for living our Benchmark values and contributing to the Benchmark culture. With Culture Compensation, associates can realistically increase their annual wage by 21% or more. •    Community Bonuses – quarterly performance bonuses that provide associates with additional compensation. •    Gratitude Grams – official “thank you” cards given by an associate to a coworker who has gone above and beyond. The winner of the monthly drawing in each community receives a gift up to $50 in value. •    Service Champions – once a month each Benchmark community chooses its top service champion. The winners receive a ribbon and pin to wear on their nametag, a gold Service Champion uniform shirt and a $100-dollar gift check. • Community Service Champions – annual recognition of the top service champion in each community. The winner receives an extra day off, a plaque and a $500-dollar gift. •    Benchmark Service Champion – annual recognition of the top associate across Benchmark who is the model service champion. The winner receives a vacation package award. •    Resident Referral Bonuses – bonuses of $1,000 that are provided to associates who refer a resident to any of the Benchmark communities who moves in. •    Associate Referral Bonuses – bonuses of $500 to $5,000 that are provided to associates who refer employment candidates to Benchmark who are hired. Associate Development: Benchmark brings our associates into their talent development from the beginning. As part of the annual review process, associates create individual development plans, with personal and professional goals based on their strengths, interests and aspirations. Associates work closely with a supervisor to get advice, guidance, mentoring and education to be successful in their careers. Benchmark University: Associates at Benchmark are enrolled on their first day in Benchmark University—a learning management system that combines in class, online and independent learning. With this hybrid approach, associates can keep current with the strict requirements of the senior living industry for in-service training, licensure tracking and certificates. One Company Fund: Benchmark One Company Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization, was formed by Benchmark executives for the sole purpose of providing emergency cash assistance to associates and their families during times of unpredictable hardship. The application process is anonymous and associates can receive grants up to $10,000. In 2017, Benchmark distributed $352,000 to 194 associates through the One Company Fund.
Benchmark also provides Emotional Support Services during Tough Times: One-on-One Sessions with a Certified Coach; Access to licensed counselors and therapists through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP); Virtual Support Groups; Interfaith Services and Prayer Circles; and Medical Town Halls.
