BayCare is the leading, not-for-profit health academic care system that connects individuals and families to a wide range of services at hundreds of locations in Tampa Bay and West Central Florida. Purpose
BayCare was formed in 1997 by a core group of local hospitals determined to continue providing not-for-profit health care to the communities of West Central Florida. Today, BayCare has grown to an integrated system with 16 hospitals as well as one of the region’s largest multispecialty provider groups, BayCare Medical Group, and a diverse network of ambulatory services that includes laboratories, imaging, surgical centers, BayCare Urgent Care locations and wellness centers. BayCare operates one of Florida’s largest home care agencies, BayCare HomeCare. BayCare is West Central Florida’s largest provider of behavioral health and pediatric services. Its Medicare Advantage insurance plan, BayCarePlus, is also growing to serve the community. With 33,000 team members and $10 billion in annual economic impact, BayCare is a top employer and community partner in the region.
