Purpose
APAH serves our community in three ways:
We are real estate developers. APAH builds, preserves, and operates affordable housing. Today, APAH owns more than 2,300 affordable apartments across 20 multifamily properties in the D.C. metro region and is actively expanding our impact into neighboring jurisdictions to address the regional need for affordable housing.
We are advocates. APAH provides leadership and expertise to advocate for policies and programs that serve the needs of our lower income neighbors. We collaborate with civic associations, local businesses, the faith community, and service providers to shape housing, land use, and social service policies that help all of our neighbors thrive. Most of all, we work with our residents to make sure that their voices are heard.
We are opportunity providers. Housing is the first step to self-sufficiency for APAH residents – but it is just the first step. APAH partners with 20+ organizations to deliver asset-building services to increase family and financial stability.
