Allentown Rescue Mission
Our Gateway Center is the 24/7 emergency shelter which provides the most basic level of care to guests. The Gateway Center receives guests through various channels of referral and arrival, who have found themselves in difficult circumstances. It is common for guests to arrive with a complex physical & mental health need which is coupled with housing and employment barriers that need time and assistance to navigate. The Gateway Center works to share the love of Christ and come alongside them in their effort to address their experience or cycle of homelessness. Should a guest wish to address their issues on a more long term level, they can request participation in the Christian Living Program. This program is a 8 week, classroom & hands on, gospel centered learning experience. It provides more intensive counsel, case management, employment, and community housing support. Through participation in the Clean Team program, guests of the Christian Living Program are able to be gainfully employed while staying in the program to eventually help the securing of housing and a solid return to community living through performing various light labor and non-labor based work in the community.
