Ad Hoc
Ad Hoc, born out of the rescue of HealthCare.gov, is a digital services company that helps the government better serve people. Established in 2014 with a core team of less than 10 employees, Ad Hoc now employs more than 515 people across the country. Our teams have helped federal government agencies bring consumer-level experiences to government services, including mobile apps for Veterans, simplified ways to sign up for Medicare, and new ways for people to access health data.
Purpose
Ad Hoc is a mission-oriented team united by our commitment to building something bigger than ourselves. We created a remote-first team to give people all over the country the opportunity to bring their technology skills to huge government missions like improving access to health care and supporting Veterans.
We’ve built a strong remote work culture that is professional and competent, flexible and friendly. We love a challenge, love what we do, and love doing it well.

Vision
In the early 2000s, private sector companies began a revolution in consumer technology that transformed the expectations of what people could do with websites and applications. Today, most government services are still out of step with consumer technology when it comes to features, availability, and ease of use.
Ad Hoc’s vision for government is to close that gap between consumer expectations and the reality of government digital services. By striving to meet that high bar, we can create digital services we’re proud of and that improve the government’s capacity to serve the public.
