Established in 1904, the USTA PNW is a non-profit organization working to promote & develop the growth of tennis by providing access for all. As one of the 17 sections of the USTA, the national governing body of the sport of tennis, USTA PNW serves more than 1.3M tennis players, 200+ tennis facilities, & provides low-cost afterschool & summer parks programs to 40,000+ participants.

USTA PNW is the largest employer of recreational tennis jobs in the PNW with more than 500+ full-time, part-time, & seasonal employees annually, creating new tennis jobs within the immediate communities served.

Purpose

Attract, engage, and retain new generations of diverse tennis participants. USTA PNW continues to provide entry-level tennis programs and more than 35,000 play opportunities through hundreds of partnerships with cities, park and recreation departments, school districts, and community organizations. In the section’s ongoing efforts to build a footprint in every community, more than 400 seasonal jobs were created, including job training and positive economic impact. Vision

Create play opportunities for all by expanding and financially sustaining a hybrid distribution system. USTA Pacific Northwest continues to live its mission-based strategic initiative to revitalize and manage those indoor tennis facilities who reach out; in danger of closing and/or request operational and delivery partnership. Countering the exciting increases in population growth and overall tennis participation, the greatest challenge to the continued growth of tennis in the Pacific Northwest is the staggering lack of indoor tennis courts, particularly those indoor courts that are available to the public. USTA PNW’s facility operations initiatives seek to save indoor courts whenever possible and to partner to advocate for more tennis facility infrastructure. Investing in revitalizing facilities such as Galbraith Tennis Center and Vancouver Tennis Center, USTA PNW continues to address the single greatest challenge of growing the game of tennis specific to the Pacific Northwest: public access to indoor courts for all....
