Rylan, Jerome and Chris wanted to go with a company name that referenced Boston and had a water theme since distribution centers are all about inventory flow. In Boston there are already a lot of companies name Charles River Something, so that was ruled out. Since the company can improve 6 aspects of order fulfillment, and because the Charles River has/had 6 tributaries, the name became 6 River Systems. There is another origin of the name, but it will remain company lore.
