Annamarie Aveytia was at home scrubbing dishes on a seemingly ordinary day, when her watch buzzed. A message read, “Can you come in today…right now?” Within minutes, she threw on fresh clothes and hopped into the car. “Am I doing the right thing?” she wondered as she sped toward the unknown. “I make sure to go visit everyone at their desk and show them the award, physically show them. ‘You guys deserve this. This is your award. This is based off of your feedback’. They feel a sense of engagement that they earned that award, not the company. That boosts employee morale. It reinforces to our employees that their contributions are valued. It fosters that sense of pride and belonging. Top Workplaces awards are different because it’s based on their feedback.”
