Winning 12 Top Workplaces awards in two years continues to reinforce Endeavors’ reputation as an employer of choice. Top Workplaces recognition helps the organization recruit a higher quality and quantity of talent — including senior leaders and employees from competing organizations.
Endeavors originated 55 years ago from the collective efforts of five churches. This unique origin story, rooted in service and community, has recently been acknowledged in a significant way — being crowned a Top Workplaces winner. Not just once, but an impressive 12 times in the past two years. The honor isn’t just a badge of honor; it’s a testament to the heart, values, and efforts that make it a remarkable organization.

Top Workplaces recognition validates Endeavors’ deep-rooted direction
In 2022, Danny Hernandez, Chief of Administration at Endeavors, was in search of third-party validation for his amazing employees. Hernandez knew his team had something special and wanted confirmation that Endeavors was moving in the right direction. After hearing about the Top Workplaces recognition program, he knew it was the neutral seal of approval Endeavors needed because it’s grounded in honest employee feedback.
The Endeavors team received their first Top Workplaces award in 2023. Since then, Hernandez, Fulghum, and Corporate People and Culture Officer, Feliece Murrell have worked hard to keep organizational culture at its peak. Endeavors has won 12 awards over the past two years, and Hernandez wants to keep that momentum going.
“It tells a great story about who we are and who we want to be,” he says. “We’re continuing to change. Here we are, two years in a row. We want to go for three years, then four. We’re not satisfied with just staying where we are. We want to continue to improve as an organization.”
Recognition builds reputation, increasing curiosity from candidates
The celebrations don’t end once the awards are announced – that’s only the beginning. Hernandez said his team has filled every open position and is doing so in record times. The improved recruitment efficiency came from adding Top Workplaces badges to Endeavors’ careers pages, showing that the organization has strong commitments and values.
“I think being able to display that from a recruiting standpoint really tells that story,” commented Hernandez. “If it doesn’t, it at least makes them curious. ‘Tell me a little bit more about this Top Workplace award. Tell me a little bit more about this DE&I recognition, this work‑life flexibility recognition’.”
Top Workplaces badges help Endeavors hire senior leaders
As Corporate People and Culture Officer, Murrell has seen these dramatic recruiting improvements firsthand. She commented that Endeavors’ recent Top Workplaces awards helped her hire many talented new employees, including senior leaders.
“Top Workplaces awards have been extremely impactful for getting the opportunity to hire quality candidates. Now, our talent acquisitions department has something that they can showcase to candidates and especially senior candidates,” remarked Murrell. “We’ve hired a lot of senior members in the company. Having Top Workplaces awards is important for them to hear about because they speak volumes to not only the work that we do but also our care for our employees.”
