The Douglas County School System (DCSS), a public education district, is the largest employer in the county. with over 3300 employees and all teachers are Highly Qualified in their field. DCSS student enrollment is approximately 25,000. Schools include 20 elementary schools (K-5th), 8 middle (6th-8th) and 5 high schools (9th-12th)).
The DCSS mission is to provide a quality education for all students in a safe, supportive environment. Our vision is to build a community of lifelong learners that become responsible individuals, independent thinkers, and productive citizens. We are "Leading and Learning." Dr. Gordon Pritz is the superintendent.Our goals are to provide a challenging, comprehensive instructional and curricular program for all learners; to provide a school environment that is safe and supportive and enhances the learning process; and to improve communication throughout the school community.
