University Area CDC
University Area CDC works to improve the economic, educational and social levels of the University Area through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance. We work with numerous community partners to address the needs of area residents, families and businesses.
Our University Area Community Center Complex is a 50,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose center where we provide critical services to thousands of residents, such as GED and ESOL classes. With programs like STEPS for Success, Get Moving!, INVEST Workforce and Prodigy Cultural Arts, we strive to educate University Area residents and help them build life skills to rise above their circumstances.
We’re also a gathering place for residents and community organizations alike. The complex has classrooms, a community room, a performance stage, a gymnasium, music, art and dance studios, a fitness center and a playground in our front park. Our goal is to foster a sense of pride in the University Area Community where residents can safely grow and prosper for years to come.

Mission
University Area CDC, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public/private partnership whose mission is children and family development, crime prevention and commerce growth. Its primary focus is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida.
