The League of Minnesota Cities is dedicated to promoting excellence in local government. Founded in 1913, the League is the state's largest and most comprehensive membership organization serving cities.
The League is proud to support the elected officials and staff of more than 800 of its member cities through advocacy, education and training, policy development, and other services. Cities' risk management needs are covered by the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT), which provides property, liability, and workers' compensation coverage; the property/casualty program has more than 1,100 members, and the workers' compensation program has more than 900 members.
Minnesota cities look to the League as their trusted source for information resources, consulting services, unique coverages, guidance, training, and research. We are the collective voice of Minnesota cities at the state Legislature and we promote the value of cities to the media and the general public. The League's 108 employees take pride in knowing their work contributes to the quality of life in Minnesota's cities where we all live, work, and play.
