Formed in July 2000 by Mark Watkins, Geneva Capital has grown from a 5-person firm to a full-service direct lender with 59 full-time employees. As it was on day-one, our mission remains true today: to be a leading provider of equipment financing solutions to all businesses, including startups. Today, we fulfill equipment finance needs across specific niches nation-wide. We understand that owning a business can be challenging, so we aim to make financing simple with quick approvals, competitive terms and unmatched customer service. From the friendly voice on the other end of the phone to the personalized service we apply to every transaction, the Geneva Capital team prides itself maintaining excellent customer relationships and impressive satisfaction ratings. Our team of over-achievers consistently works to meet and exceed goals, all while fostering a culture of teamwork, camaraderie and fun. We're real people helping real people prosper.
Team Geneva has adopted a "work hard, play hard" mindset, and we enjoy celebrating our successes. This photo was snapped during the 2018 "Lake Day," an annual incentive earned by hitting team goals. Geneva closed the office for an afternoon of food, beverages and of course a few competitive events like this inflatable obstacle course … all for the coveted Lake Day Traveling Trophy.
For years, Geneva Capital was headquartered in a small office space above Broadway Street in Alexandria, MN. As they grew, the team expanded into adjacent apartments! Today, Team Geneva calls this newly-renovated and expanded 20,000 sq. ft. office space home. The building features state-of-the-art technology, fabulous office and meeting spaces along with a rec room complete with ping pong tables and bean bag boards!
Geneva Capital hosts at least two monthly events aimed at giving back. During these, a small group provides either a lunch or appetizers and cocktails for the entire team. Each attendee makes a free-will donation with a company match…x2! Funds are donated to the beneficiary of the organizers' choosing. As of April 2019, Geneva's Community Reinvestment Committee had reinvested over $945,000 in our local communities ... and counting!
Team input is highly valued at Geneva! In fact, the team is incentivized to submit "Bright Ideas" aimed at improving the organization. The management team chooses the ideas with the largest impact and awards Geneva Bucks to those individuals at our monthly team meetings.
