Special Tree Rehabilitation System provides comprehensive care and rehabilitation for adults and children with traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. Family-owned and operated since 1974, Special Tree programs have helped generations of Michigan residents find increased independence and improved quality of life. Caring professionals leverage advanced technologies and proven practices to help each individual reach their fullest potential. Subacute, outpatient, residential, vocational and home and community rehabilitation services at 30 locations have earned the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Michigan Quality Council's highest honors.
Special Tree team members are encouraged to take regular time out for physical and emotional renewal, including art classes held in the on-campus greenhouse.
Employee wellness is an important part of the Special Tree culture, including lunchtime walking groups, the CARROT wellness app, 5k Walk/Run/Rolls, an annual Soup Contest, and more.
Teams at Special Tree connect through a robust company intranet which includes photos, polls, and information, weekly calls, frequent meetings, manager retreats, company drawings, trivia contests, education and training, and more.
This year Special Tree celebrates 10 years as a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace.
