Established in 1903, the Detroit Regional Chamber is one of the nation's oldest chambers of commerce. Today the Detroit Regional Chamber is the third largest and one of the most effective chambers in the country. The Chamber represents the business interests of the Detroit region which includes 5.4 million residents and 11 Fortune 500 companies.
Like many chambers of commerce, the Detroit Regional Chamber advocates at the local, state, and federal levels of government for pro-business policy. The Chamber also informs its members on economic issues and creates opportunities for business and government leaders to connect with each other.
The Chamber exists to serve its members. The 74 Chamber staff work to make the region stronger and its businesses more successful. The diverse team is driven by the Chamber's mission of powering the economy for Southeast Michigan. The service-oriented group also donates their time and money to support many nonprofit organizations in Detroit and throughout the region.
