NYSID
NYSID is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to advance employment and other opportunities for people with disabilities.
We have been the appointed by the NYS Education Department to contract for work through the NYS Preferred Source Program for individuals with disabilities. We are a member agency organization. Our 140 members are rehabilitative service agencies who support people with disabilities including but limited to employment. Member Agencies in the Capital Region include the Center for Disability Services in Albany and Rehabilitation Support Services in Altamont.
NYSID contracts with state and local government as well as private companies to provide goods and services in which individuals with disabilities are employed. NYSID contracts create jobs for nearly 6,000 people with disabilities each year. For every dollar an individual with a disability earns on a NYSID contract there is an $86.00 local economic impact.

NYSID's team works diligently seeking and administering government and private sector service and commodity contracts, which provide jobs for individuals with disabilities. Our work provides a life and a livelihood to a population underserved in the employment arena. Whether in document imaging, temporary personnel or janitorial service, among others, the work we engage in gives dignity and purpose to individuals with disabilities while serving our communities' procurement needs. Those who work on our contracts are an inspiration, which is why, even on the most difficult days, coming to work is engaging and rewarding.
