Purpose
Backd was founded by brothers Xan and Michail Myburgh in 2018 in Austin, Texas. It was created after discovering traditional financial institutions were not meeting the capital needs of businesses across the country.

Our view is that there is a time for work and a time for play which is characterized by us having a bar instead of a reception desk and a ping pong table in the middle of the offices as place for employees to take a break and recoup before heading back to helping small businesses develop. We have a different view to the traditional office setting where each department is segregated, we all mix together with the aim of assisting each other in delivering the best possible service to our customers.
