The Philadelphia Contributionship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire was founded by Benjamin Franklin and his fellow firefighters to provide fire insurance to homeowners in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. The company issued its first policies in 1752. Although our policies have changed to meet the needs of the modern market our goals remain the same. We are still committed to writing urban risks, which we define as row homes, flat roofs, older-aged and low-valued or multi-family residences, while focusing on suburban and higher value homes as well. We provide homeowners, fire and liability insurance to customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland with plans to expand into Virginia in 2017.

My boss allows me to do my job with minimal supervision. I know I can go to my boss at any given time for direction if needed. We work great as a team in my department.
I feel valued, I have awesome co-workers in my department, and I get to speak to different people from agents to insureds, which I enjoy.
I work at an historic company that is expanding and is of the size where actions lead to visible results.
I feel I can make a difference.
